A moving story of Gratitude-22/01/2021

Yet another day of Online class arrived. By 8.58 am, my mobile vibrated with the first hour Google meet link. After admitting us to the class Neena miss showed a video depicting the true bond existing between a teacher and student. 

The role of student and the teacher in the video 'A moving story of Gratitude' are played by Simon and Miss Andrews. The video plot is as follows: Teacher told the students to show their gratitude by drawing in a paper. Each student is later called out to show what they are grateful for. Later Miss Andrews called Simon to come forward and the rest of the scene can be visualised through the below lines.

Miss Andrews:"Come on off, I will be right up here with you." (Simon drew a hand and teacher asked everyone to guess who's hand is that.)

Sarah (classmate):"Is that the hand of God"?

Simon:"It is your hand Miss Andrews."


If possible everyone must watch that four minute video to understand how much we must be grateful for the gifts we possess. The bond between the teacher and student made my eyes filled up with tears of joy. Everyday I come across different concepts of becoming a best teacher. Hope one day I too can be like Miss Andrews surrounded by lots of cute Simons. Let's give a moment for gratitude which is important for our peace of mind.

Neena miss then discussed about types of teaching, it's characteristics etc. 'Learning is a behaviour modification.'

To my surprise, second hour link popped up in Health and Physical Education group. Yes, it's my first experience in attending an online P.E period. George Sir taught us Pranayama(Anulom & Vilom).

During the third hour, Ancy mam taught us about Jean-Piaget's stages of cognitive development. Those are:

1) Sensorimotor stage (0-2 yrs)

2) Pre operational stage (2-7 yrs)

3) Concrete operational stage(7-11)

4) Formal Operational stage (11- adult)

Our Principal Dr. Benedict sir amazed us through replying to the question asked by Ancy mam during the class.😎

 After yesterday's glorious event, we are back to offline classes. After the prayer, it was optional period. Neena miss entered the class and asked about our well being. She taught different phases of teaching profession. And also made us write about the best teacher whom I have met. Roshan was called out to read the assigned work. Also at the end of class Shilpa, Lekshmi, Athira and I were congratulated by our classmates for winning pens yesterday. Giby Mam handled second hour. She taught three mental systems and they are : Id, Ego, Super Ego . She told a hilarious incident to illustrate about the mental systems. It was so much fun to hear her experiences, stories etc.  Later Maya Mam took the third hour. She taught about the qualities, skills and competencies that a teacher should possess. "The mediocre tells.. The good teacher explains..The superior teacher demonstrates..The great teacher inspires.." During Lunch break, we practised dance💃 for tomorrow's programme...

Joju Sir handled the first hour. The students of English department took their seminar portions. Web 3.0, Web 4.0 and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) were the topics. They did a superb job in helping us understand these topics. Web 1.0: staffing information provider where people read websites but rarely interacted with them. Web 1.0 is a read only web. Web 2.0 is an interactive and the social web enabling collaboration between users. It is a read and write web.  Web 3.0: change both how websites are made and have people interact with them.
