School Induction- Day 1

09/03/2021: Tuesday 

I rushed to St. Mary's Higher Secondary School for the induction program to reach on time. I was also nervous about the experience ahead us. 14 of us with Brother Albin infront reached Principal's office to meet Rev. Fr.C.C.John. As Albin bro and I were the leaders we entered his cabin, discussed about our motive of school visit. Due to study leave we could not meet the students. Then we met Headmaster Aby Sir, a good friend of my father, identified me. After the conversation, he permitted us to explore the whole school. 

We, a group of 14 members started our expedition. We left Aby Sir's cabin and headed towards the ground.To escape from scorching heat we occupied the shade in ground and noticed the way they preserved the trees. There we could observe Nakshatravanam, special court built for games like Basketball, Cricket etc, Noon Meal preparation room. We interacted with our Optional teacher Rajeev Sir. He directed us and told to prepare lesson plans on the topic "Motion". He advised on how to become an effective and a friendly teacher.

Then I interacted with staff at Cooperative society and got the school magazine. We noticed the facilities provided in each class rooms. Every classroom had turned into a smart class with projector, white board and laptop💻. Later we went to explore the canteen and had tea, snacks. We interacted with Sobha Aunty, caretaker of canteen. 

After that we visited the library with well arranged shelves of thousands of books📚. Later we entered auditorium and we could see the pictures of former administrative warriors. Their pictures represented the great history of the school. Also we went to see the museum and theatre built on the top floor of auditorium. But we couldn't enter those as it was locked. At 2:30 p.m. we met Aby sir and he enquired about our schedule of the day. We introduced ourselves to him. He was so friendly and we were relieved from nervousness. After the school hours, we were invited to the തിരുസന്നിധി by brother Albin. It was a great experience for me and the team. Tea and snacks were served by him. Brother Albin is such a generous person. Moreover we got permission to visit museum exhibiting the photos, things used by former Archbishops. With the click of various poses I rushed home.


Physical science department conducted the inauguration of the association from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Google meet. Dr Senoy Thomas, the Associate Professor in Physics at CUSAT was the chief guest. I was the comperer of the function and it was a fantastic experience. With the schedule the inauguration came to an end by 8:15 p.m. Our mentor Dr. Neena Thomas was very happy with our performance and the day came to an end with wonderful moments.

Learning = Terminal behaviour - Entry behaviour-27/01/2021

 After yesterday's glorious event, we are back to offline classes. After the prayer, it was optional period. Neena miss entered the class and asked about our well being. She taught different phases of teaching profession. And also made us write about the best teacher whom I have met. Roshan was called out to read the assigned work. Also at the end of class Shilpa, Lekshmi, Athira and I were congratulated by our classmates for winning pens yesterday. Giby Mam handled second hour. She taught three mental systems and they are : Id, Ego, Super Ego . She told a hilarious incident to illustrate about the mental systems. It was so much fun to hear her experiences, stories etc.  Later Maya Mam took the third hour. She taught about the qualities, skills and competencies that a teacher should possess. Joju Sir handled the first hour. The students of English department took their seminar portions. Web 3.0, Web 4.0 and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) were the topics. They did a superb job in helping us understand these topics. Web 1.0: staffing information provider where people read websites but rarely interacted with them. Web 1.0 is a read only web.
