Retrospection of New Era with Ancy Anna Kurian (2020-2022)

The first day of June started with the Physical Education. George Sir told this was a rare situation as P.E was the starting period of an academic year. He presented a PPT on the types of exercises (aerobic, anaerobic), respiratory system, functions of muscular system etc. Giby Ma'am handled the second period. The chat box was filled with birthday wishes for her. She was glad and expressed joy for the wishes. Then she continued discussing the seminar topics. The Physical science batch completed their seminar portions and at 12:50 p.m. class was dispersed. Today was our Mentor's Birthday too and we conducted a Google meet at around 8:45 p.m. to wish on her birthday. Also troll videos were made for her, which she loved. The day came an end.

The first hour was handled by Neena Miss. After discussing the topics, she shared one of her experiences during her teaching life for which she won in a write up competition. After the first hour, Health club Inauguration was inaugurated by Anand Narayan Sir. It was a wonderful session 🤠 and I totally loved it. He is a great personality and sang many songs which soothed our mind. Also he shared some techniques with which we can relax our minds. The Media club of Mar Theophilus Training College organised Radio 📻 Jockey competition. It was a new experience to me and I was wondering what to do for ensuring my participation in that competition. Even though I have heard how RJ's  speak, and was excited to try it so I decided to write a script. I wrote a script and practiced my way of speaking just like RJ or Radio Jockey. I did 4 minute almost audio clip and also included my best friends Lakshmi and Arsha through telephonic conversation. It was a wonderful experience for us to take part in that competition. I was so glad that I could give some roles for my best friends.  The main theme of the competition was "Campus life and Covid". So we decided to speak about our campus life which was during the timeline 2014- 2017.   The Social Science department 'Aikya' was inaugurated by the honourable Mayor Arya. Also Old is Gold competition was declared. I was so excited about it and wanted to take part in it. Giby Mam handled the second hour and she asked me to give a briefing on the topic 'Creativity'. The concept of creativity is my seminar topic. Joju Sir handled the first hour. The class started with his thought provoking idea. My classmates started the seminar on the topic OER. AT 11 a.m. class dispersed.   Ancy Mam handled the second hour. She gave us leecture on the topic "Role of Education in a Society", "Democracy and Education". I also marked attendence in Google classroom. Class dispersed at 12.30 p.m.

  The first hour was handled by Joju Sir. The students of Social Science department concluded their Seminar topics. Everyone did a great job ☺️. Ancy Mam handled the second hour. She discussed about the Eclectic tendency in education. The fusion or synthesis of diverse philosophies to answer education enigmas is known as Eclectic tendency in education.

09/05/2021:  Today is celebrated as Mother's Day and the NISARGA Union and our Solasta family came up with yet another interesting contests. I was excited to participate in both the contest and started the preparation 😅.  First one, I recreated an old photo of my mother taken in the year 2007. It was difficult to find an old picture with the same costume and atlast I did it.  10/03/2021:  Today, I prepared for the second contest. In that we have to excite our mother through creativity i.e, bottle art, poems, recipe etc. I prepared lunch for my mother and portrayed the process in a creative way through a video. Joju Sir handled the first period. The students of Mathematics department conducted on the topics 'Cyber privacy' and 'Password privacy'. Before the seminar, Joju enquired about our state of happiness and gave motivational words for us.  The second wave of Covid is making the people pay huge costs. The present situation is very worse and the medical team is doing their best. I hope 🤞 that a day arrives when the last Covid survivor leaves the hospital. Let the almighty provide strength to everyone for surviving this pandemic. George Sir handled the second period and we practiced Sidhasana after a warming up session. Ancy Mam handled the first hour and she discussed about the great philosopher Aurobindo.  We could see a transformation of Aurobindo from politician to philosopher. He started 'Bandemataram' journal. In 1905, he joined political movement and in 1910, he established Sri Aurobindo ashram at Pondicherry. His Concept of Education: - It should be in accordance with the needs of real modern life.  -Education must create dynamic citizen to meet the real needs of modern complex life. The second hour was handled by Neena Mam. She enquired about our well being and I was delighted to see all the smiling Solasta stars 🤩. Then she discussed the topics in 'Models of teaching'.

I was so delighted as I could meet my girls Lekshmi😊and Arsha🥰. We reached the school at 6:45 a.m. and was chatting with them. I felt so relieved when I saw them after long seven months. The G-meet link of Joju Sir's class popped up in mobile and entered the class before 9.30 a.m. The students of Malayalam department concluded their seminar topics. Each and everyone elaborated their topics and it was a superb session. Maya Mam handled the second period and students of Social Science department conducted the seminar on the topics Education during Ancient, Medievial and Modern periods. Also the situation which prevailed during British intervention and modern era. The class ended at 12.45 p.m.

Neena Mam handled the first hour. She dealt with Models of teaching like Concept Attainment model, Role play model, Enquiry model. I remembered we being the part of Role play model class taken by the seniors. She suggested us to use these models for the better understanding of difficult concepts for students. Giby Mam handled the second hour and students of English department took seminar on 'Multiple Intelligence'. M.I. theory was proposed by Howard Gardner in 1983 book Frames of Mind.  He suggested that human intelligence can be differentiated into eight modalities. Those are: Linguistic intelligence  Logical intelligence  Visual and spatial intelligence  Bodily -kinesthetic intelligence  Musical intelligence Interpersonal intelligence  Interpersonal intelligence Naturalist intelligence.
