READING AND REFLECTION SESSION📖🌼June 23

During the optional period, I got the opportunity to do Reading and Reflection session on the book "Brief Answers to the Big Questions" written by the famous Theoretical Physicist Stephen Hawking. The book was published on 16 October 2018.

I chose the book mainly due to two reasons:

1) The book was eminent personality Stephen Hawking's last book before his death on March 2018.

2) Also the book discusses about the questions at times we would have asked ourselves. The topics like Artificial intelligence, acceptance of God, Time Travel, climate change, colonization of space etc. were discussed in the book which made me more curious to have a look onto it.

Chapters are:

1) Is there God?
2) How did it all begin?
3) Is there other intelligent life in the Universe?
4) Can we predict the future?
5) What is inside a black hole 🕳️?
6) Is Time Travel possible?
7) Will we survive on Earth?
8) Should we colonise Space 🌌?
9) Will Artificial intelligence outsmart us?
10) How do we shape the Future?

I totally agree with the author Stephen Hawking's concern over the planet Earth, over growing Artificial intelligence, about the future of Universe. Hawking does not believe in God but I wanted to know what is that supreme Power that guides us in our life. Is Karma having an effect in our life? He did not believe in afterlife, some of his concepts have collided with mine.

Reflection portion:

I got an opportunity to read a book of eminent scientist Stephen Hawking through this Reading and Reflection activity. I was always curious to know about the beginning and the through this book some pictures of the most asked questions has become clear. He explained the topics in a witty manner.

Through this book, I got to understand the speciality of 3D in space, inflation process in universe, WMAP satellite (wonderful map of temperature of cosmic microwave sky) invention of High's particle (first discovery of a new elementary particle in 21st century), Break through message (competition to create messages read by an advanced civilization).

Stephen Hawking is a perfect example of motivation. We can learn many qualities from him. He was a survivor and even with his motor neurone disease he contributed lots to the world of Science. Click the below link to watch the ppt which I presented during the session.
