Initiation of the Era of Teaching

19/02/2020: Friday 

The last working day of the week arrived. The day started ✨ with the prayer. Maya miss handled the first hour. She discussed about the Aims of Education, Harmony and Curriculum of Realism. Archana mam discussed about Cognitive, Humanistic and Gestalt Psychology during the second hour.

Benedict sir took class for one hour about the Early steps in Teaching & Pedagogy. "Learning must be a 'AHA' experience i.e; teachers must make a child learn concept joyfully. He also divided us into 3 groups based on the position among our siblings(like first, second, third child). 
He asked us to write down the advantages and disadvantages of being first, second and third child. Each student from 3 groups were called out to read the written points. He told us that our position in family will influence us in taking decisions during childhood, adulthood and parenthood of our life.

Joju Sir discussed about "Edgar Dale's Cone of Experience".



22/02/2021- Monday:

"Communication is a means of persuasion to influence other so that desired effect is achieved - Aristotle."

The teaching experience in BEd has begun on Monday. And I had to take seminar on optional hour. Anyways I was both excited and nervous for the class. 
Morning I rushed to the college premises and Giby Mam handled the first hour. She discussed about 'learning environment', 80%-20% principle(universal law), Swan effect(learning process must be silent- through continuous practice, effort & pain only a Swan's 🦢 movement is so graceful- likewise each student must be evolved)

Maya Mam discussed about the Curriculum, subjects, teaching methods, maxims of teaching and also the sequencing of teaching in Realism.

The next hour was handled by Neena Mam. Both Athira and I were alloted to conduct Seminar. Development of Science: Ancient, Medievial and Modern period was my seminar topic. I was quite nervous but everything went so well. I took class with a PPT. It was a great experience for me. Also Athira took seminar on Scope of Science and she did a great job. During the seminar, Neena mam evaluated us.

Ancy Mam discussed about the concept of 'communication'. The word communication is derived from Latin word 'communis' which means common. The process and types of communication were discussed.

 With the satisfaction of handling the first seminar at MTTC, we were dispersed.

Learning = Terminal behaviour - Entry behaviour-27/01/2021

 After yesterday's glorious event, we are back to offline classes. After the prayer, it was optional period. Neena miss entered the class and asked about our well being. She taught different phases of teaching profession. And also made us write about the best teacher whom I have met. Roshan was called out to read the assigned work. Also at the end of class Shilpa, Lekshmi, Athira and I were congratulated by our classmates for winning pens yesterday. Giby Mam handled second hour. She taught three mental systems and they are : Id, Ego, Super Ego . She told a hilarious incident to illustrate about the mental systems. It was so much fun to hear her experiences, stories etc.  Later Maya Mam took the third hour. She taught about the qualities, skills and competencies that a teacher should possess. "The mediocre tells.. The good teacher explains..The superior teacher demonstrates..The great teacher inspires.." During Lunch break, we practised dance💃 for tomorrow's programme...

Joju Sir handled the first hour. The students of English department took their seminar portions. Web 3.0, Web 4.0 and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) were the topics. They did a superb job in helping us understand these topics. Web 1.0: staffing information provider where people read websites but rarely interacted with them. Web 1.0 is a read only web. Web 2.0 is an interactive and the social web enabling collaboration between users. It is a read and write web.  Web 3.0: change both how websites are made and have people interact with them. Web 4.0 is a new evolution of web paradigm based on multiple models, technologies and social relationships. It will help people have a digital alter. It is an open, linked and intelligent web.
