 Neena Mam started the class with the story of Blanche Caffiere. Do anyone know who she is? Any guesses. Yes, she was the librarian who had a huge influence on Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft Corporation. 


 

Let me share the story of Mrs. Caffiere and Bill Gates. Back in his school days, he loved to be around books but entering a library wasn't cool for boys at that time. So he used to hide behind the shelf and read. Mrs. Caffiere noticed him and started to provide him with more books. Mainly she spend little time to discuss with him about the books he read. This practice has made alot of change in him. It's remarkable how much power a good person can have in shaping the life of a child.

"Teaching is the manipulation of a student to live successfully in a society." A video about Finland education system was shown later.

During the second hour Ancy mam discussed about the developmental tasks and hazards of a learner.

Maya Mam handled third hour. She discussed about the different aspects of education. Also quotes of famous personalities like Gandhiji, Tagore, Dr. Radhakrishnan, Aurobindo on education was noted down. Yes, education is a life long process which helps oneself in making desirable changes in his life.

 After yesterday's glorious event, we are back to offline classes. After the prayer, it was optional period. Neena miss entered the class and asked about our well being. She taught different phases of teaching profession. And also made us write about the best teacher whom I have met. Roshan was called out to read the assigned work. Also at the end of class Shilpa, Lekshmi, Athira and I were congratulated by our classmates for winning pens yesterday. Giby Mam handled second hour. She taught three mental systems and they are : Id, Ego, Super Ego . She told a hilarious incident to illustrate about the mental systems. It was so much fun to hear her experiences, stories etc.  Later Maya Mam took the third hour. She taught about the qualities, skills and competencies that a teacher should possess. Joju Sir handled the first hour. The students of English department took their seminar portions. Web 3.0, Web 4.0 and Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) were the topics. They did a superb job in helping us understand these topics. Web 1.0: staffing information provider where people read websites but rarely interacted with them. Web 1.0 is a read only web. Web 2.0 is an interactive and the social web enabling collaboration between users. It is a read and write web.  Web 3.0: change both how websites are made and have people interact with them.
