Retrospection of New Era with Ancy Anna Kurian (2020-2022)

18/02/2021- Thursday: 18/02/1930- Pluto planet🪐was discovered (Maya mam's contribution of knowledge 🌼) 'Learn & teach our children to find happiness🤓 in Small things🌸.' Thursday, the day of Yoga practice. I rushed to college to reach before 9 o' clock. Luckily I reached before the prayer. After the soothing prayer, we moved to Auditorium for Yoga practice. Sir made us do hand exercise, foot exercise, neck exercise, inhaling & exhaling with Vajrasana poster, butterfly stroke🦋. With 'Shavasana' the class came to an end. I was satisfied with the session and wanted to practise it daily.  Maya miss discussed about the demerits of Naturalism. In this school 🏫 maximum freedom may cause indiscipline.   23/02/2021-Tuesday:  "Memory is the treasure house of the minds where in the monuments there of are kept and preserved.- Thomas Fuller" Due to strike of public transport, majority of MTTC students(me too) couldn't attend the class.  Also it's been a half year( 23.08.2020 ) in celebrating the Spinster party🥳 of my bestie Arsha💜🌼  Let me recollect the memories of that day.   17/02/2021- Wednesday: Yet another beautiful Saree day arrived🌼. We started the day with prayer, key of the morning. This week NCTE( National Council for Teacher Education) will visit our college and everyone is in the preparation for that. I hope🤞 everything goes well and may God shower blessings for that. The academic year's first assembly was conducted by MEd students. She discussed about the Teacher Variable ( Teaching Aptitude, Competency, Disclose hidden curriculum, Emotional intelligence, Multiple intelligence, Resilience, Behavioural management etc).  Maya Mam handled the second hour and discussed about different forms of Naturalism (Physical, Mechanical, Biological). Meanwhile the Yoga master arrived and have to leave the stage for him. We did yoga exercise for an hour and went for Maya mam's class. She started the topic Naturalism and its features. In Naturalism, Nature is the ultimate reality. Next Ancy mam discussed about the "Role of teachers in the development of a child".  After the class, we rushed to P.S studio for practising the programmes. I was nervous about forgetting steps😁 After Mathematics department's glorious performance, our department conquered the stage. At first through a video, we (22) introduced ourselves and our mentor Neena Mam was called onto the stage. Everyone was eagerly waiting for the programmes to be started. "Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings."  After late night discussion, both(Fathima and me) prepared the script for the programme. Joju Sir, Neena Mam and Shalini Mam guided us in writing the script. We reached a bit early at college and practised once. After all the arrangements being done at the dias, the guest Dr. J Prasad was invited to the programme.  The official programme started with an Inter religious prayer and Holy books( Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Quran) was read. Later our Bursar, Fr. Thomas Kayyalackal delivered the   Blessing speech . Next our Principal Dr. K.Y. Benedict called upon for introductory talk. Dr. J Prasad was invited for the Veteran talk on Teacher Education in a Changing World . He is the Director of SCERT, Kerala and also the former Vice-chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady & Kerala Kalamandalam. "Difficult roads often leads to beautiful destinations."  08/02/2021:  The new day of the week started with a prayer. Giby Mam took the first hour. She taught about the 'Nature of Psychology' . Also made us understand about the need to shrink the 'Glass of Expectation', for reducing the dissatisfaction occuring with effect of over Expectation in life. Maya Mam handled the second hour. She taught the aims of education and self realisation through Idealism, school of philosophy . Our opinions on the question: What is Science? Third and fourth hour was handled by Neena mam. "Your limitation is only in your imagination."  The day started with prayer. Maya Mam came to Multi purpose hall, she gave her opinions after reading the positives and negatives about us. She told majority of us are 'so kind Lions' . For initiating our communication skill, she insisted to share a seat near a person from another department. I got an opportunity to know Hima from Social Science. We talked about ourselves a bit.😁 Hima also has a twin sister, so interesting right? Before settling down in our seats, she made us do right and left turn exercise. Later we were told to pluck flowers 🌼 from imaginary Cassia fistula tree. You might know what tree this is? It is mostly known by Malayali's. Any guesses? Yes it's our ' Kanikonna '. Also I understood that Cassia fistula activity had an influence in me. I rushed to college to be on time for the yoga class. Today Yoga master made us do Vajrasana which benefits our stomach, intestine, lower back etc. It was a nice experience and felt a little pain in the feet but later it was gone.  After Yoga practice, Maya Mam took the class. Philosophy helps in Aims, curriculum, methods of teaching, preparing text books etc. Philosophy and Education are closely related as both are the two sides of a coin. She made us play a game called 'What Animal are you?' and we have to answer all ten questions to get points. After counting I understood that I'm a Lioness 🦁, I loved the background music of that video. Maya Mam found a pride of lions in MTTC seminar hall. Ancy mam took third hour and taught about the stages of development (pre-natal and post-natal).  During the optional period, Neena Mam clearly discussed about the 'Characteristics of Teacher Behaviour' . Second period Giby Mam discussed about the reasons behind a person's behaviour. Genetic factors, attitude developed, lifestyle, beliefs etc influence the behaviour of a child. Psychoanalysis is the process of digging out all the deposited traces to the conscious mind. Later Joju Sir conducted a panel discussion comprises of eight people.  Four  groups were ready to talk about the advantages of technology whereas the rest will talk about the disadvantages. Second day of second month started with prayer at Chapel. Ancy Mam took first hour and discussed about  Erik Erikson's Psycho-Social theory of Development . Meanwhile there was programmes going on the Multi purpose hall by seniors. After class we got an opportunity to watch the programs.  Then Maya Mam took a class on Philosophy. "Great Mother of Sciences- Francis Bacon"  Philosophy is as old as human life and it's the way of thinking. At 12 pm, Neena Mam came to class and Greeshma displayed the chart work comprising of Covid protocols.  After lunch, Neena miss took class on Different types of Teacher and told us to write a profile of ourself.  Later Joju Sir handled class from 2.45- 4pm,studied college anthem.  Also two inspirational stories about Thomas Alva Edison and a boy named Teddy was narrated by him.

I ran to the college joyfully in the relief of completing my first assignment 'Reading and Reflection of a book' . I read 'Brief answers to the big questions' written by Stephen Hawking . It was his last book published after his death. The book deals with questions about God, life after death, Artificial intelligence, climate change,future,black hole, time travel etc. which I asked myself during life time. The book was worth reading. After the prayer, I was directed to the seminar hall to fill a survey form. At 10.30 am, our classmates joined the Reflective Self Discovery session conducted by master trainer Joby. In my school days I haven't got an opportunity to attend a session like this. All the students accomodated us into that space. Joby sir told us to sit in only 2 rows.  The first task was to understand the significance of the name of person behind me. Last working day of January, started with a prayer. Maya Mam handled the first hour. During the class, she discussed about character varieties of student who are to be handled later by us. It was both cute and funny to watch the slides depicting the students.  "Smile of the teacher is the best reinforcement". Also she presented a video of a Carrot🥕, Egg🥚 and Coffee☕ bean. When these 3 items are put onto boiling water. Then the transition of Carrot(hard-soft -become weak hearted), Egg( soft- hard-become selfish), Coffee bean(hard- vanished- through taste and aroma coffe beans brighten our life) was observable. She suggested us to be like coffee beans. Giby Mam took second hour about Psycho analytic theory put forward by Sigmond Freud. The theory is about digging up of the mind. She also shared the painful childhood experiences of Hitler and also got an inspiration to read his autobiography Mein Kampf. Later Joju Sir took a class on "Role of teachers in digital Era"...
