🌸"Do Re Me Fa So La Te Do🎶🎼 - A tribute to Shiny Mam"💕

Yet another beautiful Saree day arrived🌼. We started the day with prayer, key of the morning. This week NCTE( National Council for Teacher Education) will visit our college and everyone is in the preparation for that. I hope🤞 everything goes well and may God shower blessings for that. The academic year's first assembly was conducted by MEd students. I was taken back to my school days; those Attention, Stand at ease sayings, pledge, thought for the day, News, Do you know, Campus news😂. 

Neena Mam handled the first hour. Earlier knowledge was based on Authority and Aristotle came up with 'Deductive thinking'🤔 (general to specific). Due to certain loop poles in it, Francis Bacon introduced 'Inductive method of thinking'(specific to general), later Charles Darwin came up with Inducto Deductive Reasoning (scientific method).

Giby Mam handled the second hour. She discussed about the Learning Experience (Meaningfulness, Gradation, Difficulty level), Brunerian theory. To illustrate that she told us how a teacher will teach the basics of western music Do re me fa (just like Sa re ga ma...)

Actually I was 60% super excited🤓 to hear the song once taught by my teacher Shiny mam during eighth standard at Navajeevan Bethany and 40% horrified😨when Giby Mam asked who knows to sing the song. Fortunately 🤭 Giby Mam understood that I know the lyrics and obviously she called me. In a class of legendary singers I was trembling to step forward to sing😂🎤. To my amazement, I remembered the lyrics and may be it's because of the way Shiny mam taught us. I express my gratitude to both my teachers Shiny mam and Giby Mam for providing me with an awesome feeling of excitement.☺️😁

Next we had Theatre 🎭 class and I was mesmerized the way in which he made us do the basics through fun. It was another great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed each moment.

Later Maya Mam discussed about the merits of Naturalism. She made 3 students sing a song about Nature and also 4 students came forward to shake their legs to the song.🎤🎶💃 Naturalism is a child centred Education through pleasurable activity by different methods of teaching in which modern psychological principles are illustrated.

During Ancy mam class, we did a quiz based on the topics she taught. After class hour we dispersed.

 After yesterday's glorious event, we are back to offline classes. After the prayer, it was optional period. Neena miss entered the class and asked about our well being. She taught different phases of teaching profession. And also made us write about the best teacher whom I have met. Roshan was called out to read the assigned work. Also at the end of class Shilpa, Lekshmi, Athira and I were congratulated by our classmates for winning pens yesterday. Giby Mam handled second hour. She taught three mental systems and they are : Id, Ego, Super Ego . She told a hilarious incident to illustrate about the mental systems. It was so much fun to hear her experiences, stories etc.  Later Maya Mam took the third hour. She taught about the qualities, skills and competencies that a teacher should possess. "The mediocre tells.. The good teacher explains..The superior teacher demonstrates..The great teacher inspires.." During Lunch break, we practised dance💃 for tomorrow's programme...

Initiation of the Era of Teaching

19/02/2020: Friday  The last working day of the week arrived. The day started ✨ with the prayer. Maya miss handled the first hour. She discussed about the Aims of Education, Harmony and Curriculum of Realism. Archana mam discussed about Cognitive, Humanistic and Gestalt Psychology during the second hour. Benedict sir took class for one hour about the Early steps in Teaching & Pedagogy . "Learning must be a 'AHA' experience i.e; teachers must make a child learn concept joyfully. He also divided us into 3 groups based on the position among our siblings(like first, second, third child).  He asked us to write down the advantages and disadvantages of being first, second and third child. Each student from 3 groups were called out to read the written points. He told us that our position in family will influence us in taking decisions during childhood, adulthood and parenthood of our life.
