The second offline class at MTTC started with Yoga session.  Later Maya Mam took a class on Competency. Competency is a standardised requirement for an individual to properly perform a specific job. She discussed about different competencies a teacher should possess. Competency is more connected to skills. "I hear , I forget ; I see, I remember; I do, I understand". During our teaching, we should make our students do their part to increase their interest and understanding. Also she called out a dancer(Priyanka) and singer(Roshni) for a spot performance. We were called to Optional class to meet our seniors after Maya mam's class. Then we went for dance practise on the stage. It was a good session as I could bond with my classmates. Everyone was in a josh😃. After a merry lunch, we went back to stage for a last minute preparation.  At 2 p.m., Republic Day celebration conducted by Ekayana begun.  Each department was called out for their performances and was beyond my e...

Today is the 72nd Republic Day and by 8.25 a.m I rushed to our Mar Theophilos College for the celebration. After the arrangements the official ceremony started with prayer.  Next Gibi Mam, Principal in-Charge hoisted our tri colour flag and gave the inaugural address. It was so comforting to view the fluttering of flag and flowers in the sky during hoisting. She talked about the history, struggles faced by our leaders and citizens. The complete removal of British rule was signified through the adoption of Indian Constitution. On 26 January 1950, our Indian Constitution was formed. India is known for its Unity in Diversity. Indians not even considering their religion, caste, gender, race altogether celebrate the day of 'पूर्ण स्वराज'. On that occasion, she also shared her experience of visiting Jallianwala Bagh, Rajpath (the place where tri-colour flag is hoisted) etc.  After her elaborate talk on the importance of celebrating Republic Day, pledge was taken. Pledge took m...

Image
Yet another day of Online class arrived. By 8.58 am, my mobile vibrated with the first hour Google meet link. After admitting us to the class Neena miss showed a video depicting the true bond existing between a teacher and student.  The role of student and the teacher in the video 'A moving story of Gratitude' are played by Simon and Miss Andrews . The video plot is as follows: Teacher told the students to show their gratitude by drawing in a paper. Each student is later called out to show what they are grateful for. Later Miss Andrews called Simon to come forward and the rest of the scene can be visualised through the below lines. Miss Andrews:"Come on off, I will be right up here with you." (Simon drew a hand and teacher asked everyone to guess who's hand is that.) Sarah (classmate):"Is that the hand of God"? Simon:"It is your hand Miss Andrews." If possible everyone must watch that four minute video to understand how much we must be gratef...

An Act of Kindness can shape the life of a child-21/01/2021

Neena Mam started the class with the story of Blanche Caffiere. Do anyone know who she is? Any guesses. Yes, she was the librarian who had a huge influence on Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft Corporation.    Let me share the story of Mrs. Caffiere and Bill Gates. Back in his school days, he loved to be around books but entering a library wasn't cool for boys at that time. So he used to hide behind the shelf and read. Mrs. Caffiere noticed him and started to provide him with more books. Mainly she spend little time to discuss with him about the books he read. This practice has made alot of change in him. It's remarkable how much power a good person can have in shaping the life of a child. " Teaching is the manipulation of a student to live successfully in a society." A video about Finland education system was shown later. During the second hour Ancy mam discussed about the developmental tasks and hazards of a learner. Maya Mam handled third hour. She discussed abo...

The after effect depends on how we use each invention.  Some of the merits which I noted are : Artificial intelligence, Online shopping, Robotics, Hospital appointments, Defence technology, Matrimony, Enterpreneurship and many more. Also the demerits are : Addiction to Online games resulting in no exercise which eventually leads to health problems. Lack of creativity, Increase in the cases of cyber bullying, sexual abuse, accumulation of e-waste etc. The chat box was filled up with lots and lots of opinions about technology. It was a great interactive session. He advised us to stay close to best books, great experience and better human beings . Later G...

हर घड़ी बदल रही है रूप ज़िंदगी -१८/०१/२०२१

I rushed to the P.S. studio and got to see new happy faces there. Gibi mam was in charge of first hour. She started the class with the origin of psychology. Initially it was a branch of Philosophy and later emerged into a new one. "The distinguishing characteristics of mind are of a subjective sort; we know them only from the contents of our own consciousness.  -Wilhelm Wundt" Man is always in concern about his fellow beings and surrounding. Rather than peeping onto oneself, he finds pleasure in knowing the facts about others. Maybe this attitude eventually led to the introduction and development of different branches like Physics, Natural Science, Chemistry etc.              Father of Experimental Psychology. Then she made us do a drawing in accordance to her instructions with book on our head. The final caricature ended up with a burst of laughter in class. Do you want to see that?🙈 "हर घड़ी बदल रही है रूप ज़िंदगी,  चाव है कभी, कभी ह...

"Prayer is the key of the morning and the bolt of the evening." -Mahatma Gandhi" A new day began with prayer at Chapel. I walked back to our ' Physical Science Studio ' (doesn't the name sounds interesting). It's the workroom where we are moulded into good(no🤨), better(no🤔), best (😎) teachers . First hour was handled by our mentor Neena mam. She opened the windows of opportunities of the world towards us. She motivated to grow up as the best teachers. Education originated from the words like ' Educare','Educatum '. Education makes a man self-reliant and self-less. Everyone is well aware about the importance of education in one's life.  Later it was Ancy mam's class and taught about 'Principles of Development' . I never knew development of a person can be described with principles, really astonishing! Yes, new day, new experiences, new facts. For the principles, there exist educational implications which are useful in o...
